ASD’s Challenge:

Serving all of Florida's 67 counties and 10,000+ users across 410 remote locations, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) administers Florida's driver licenses and motor vehicle tags/titles, as well as the Florida Highway Patrol, a nationally certified law enforcement agency that patrols Florida's highways.

Preliminary analysis and design reviews indicated that transitioning all enterprise DHSMV NT Servers to Windows 2003 servers was an advantageous strategy, given the Department’s existing networking environment and IT strategic plans.

The technology strategy was clear enough from the start. The challenge was how to make it happen.
