ASD’s Challenge:

Florida's city of Punta Gorda has a population of 14,000 residents and employs 270 full-time employees dedicated to serving these residents through hard work, smart planning, and sound capital investments.

Punta Gorda was not satisfied with the high network administration costs, less-than-stellar availability, and limited functionality of its aging domain controllers running the Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 operating system.

Existing domain controllers running Microsoft NT Server were approaching obsolescence, cumbersome to manage, and lacking needed feature set, stability, and security. Going forward, operational Total Cost of Ownership was a major issue.
